UP CLOSE: MICHELANGELO’S SISTINE CHAPEL New York debut at The Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center. This unique exhibit recreates one of the world’s greatest artistic achievements, Michelangelo’s renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, reproduced at museum quality and artfully displayed in near original size. We began research for this exhibition by seeking evidence of bureaucratic violence and presently shifting power structures. What we found was an imprint of unguarded vulnerability revealed by our contemporary political currents. The artists and writers whose works are featured in this exhibition consider the positioning of an identity within a larger narrative.
